Nick Vest
Research Chair I am a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in developmental psychology. My research focuses on how people develop mental representations of abstract numbers and mathematics concepts, as well as how and when these representations are used. Specifically, my dissertation examines how both children and adults mentally represent negative integers and how these representations are influenced by executive function skills. I aim to make my research applicable to educational settings at both the primary and tertiary levels. I am passionate about incorporating my research findings into my teaching methods and am excited to serve as the research chair for the MCLS community, where I look forward to collaborating with fellow board members. |
